For Sale: NewCo Spirulina

WHAT IS SPIRULINA?

Spirulina is 100% natural and a highly nutritious micro salt water plant. It was discovered in South American and Africa in natural alkaline lakes. This spiral shaped algae is a rich food source. For a long time (centuries) this algae has constituted a significant part of the diet of many communities. Since the 1970's, Spirulina has been well known and widely used as a dietary supplement in some countries.

Spirulina contains rich vegetable protein (60~ 63 %, 3~4 times higher than fish or beef ), multi Vitamins (Vitamin B 12 is 3~4 times higher than animal liver), which is particularly lacking in a vegetarian diet. It contains a wide range of minerals (including Iron, Potassium, Magnesium Sodium, Phosphorus, Calcium etc.), a high volume of Beta- carotene which protects cells (5 time more than carrots, 40 time more than spinach), high volumes of gamma-Linolein acid (which can reduce cholesterol and prevent heart disease). Further, Spirulina contains Phycocyanin which can only be found in Spirulina.

BENEFITS OF SPIRULINA

• Supports the immune system
• Increases the efficiency of cellular communication
• Helps in the repair of DNA
• Many people taking spirulina find they have more energy
• Lowers cholesterol - Japanese and Indian studies have found that taking several grams of spirulina every day lowers cholesterol. In these studies, serum low density lipoproteins (the 'bad' cholesterol) was reduced, and high density lipoproteins (the 'good' cholesterol) were increased.
• improvement in the functioning of heart arteries, which is important for sufferers of high blood pressure.
• Detoxification

Who should take Spirulina?

1. Children who don’t like or get enough vegetables and or have an imbalanced food intake.
2. Teenagers during their rapid growing period need a sufficient injection of nutrients. Spirulina is ideal for this.
3. Pregnant mums who need extra nutrients.
4. Seniors who have difficulty in having reasonable average 3 meals per day.
5. Sport lovers or athletics who need extra nutrients to keep their energy levels up.
6. Modern busy people who don't have the time to eat good meals.
7. Patients or people who need high volumes of nutrients to assist recovery (please consult your doctor)
8. Vegetarians who require extra nutrient sources.

Who shouldn't take too much Spirulina?

1. People with hyperparathyroidism.
2. People who have serious allergies to seafood or seaweed.
3. Patients current experiencing high fever.

How much Spirulina should be taken?

We suggest 10~ 30 tablets a day for adults, 5~ 15 tablets for children 2 - 12 years old. If you have special requirements for extra nutrients, please consult your chemist or your health practitioner.

How should Spirulina be taken?

1. Take only with cold or warm water, (not juice, soft drinks, coffee or tea).
2. After taking Spirulina, avoid alcohol, soft drinks or coffee for 30 minutes as these drinks can destroy some of the Spirulina nutrients and enzymes.
3. Take at least an extra half litre of water a day.
4. It doesn't matter if you take it once a day or twice a day, so long as you take enough for a day.

A Prosperous Chinese New Year

Another year just zoomed by right in front of my very own eyes. Where did all the time goes? Can't believe it's another year tomorrow. Well, for the Chinese I am. Tomorrow marks the first day of the year in the Chinese calendar, the year of tiger, which also translates roaring prosperity and luck. Maybe it's also a time to buy gold bullion, given that the Chinese loves the gold, for it signifies wealth, especially now that the Gold exchange-traded funds (ETFs) will soon be hitting the Thailand stock market, which means the price of gold will go soaring high!
Anyway, my family and I will be going back to our hometown tomorrow for a big family reunion, with glorious good food and great company, catching up on what's happening in our lives and of course a lot of fireworks display on the eve of Chinese New Year. Well, that's what the kids look forward to every year.
Here's wishing all my dear bloggers and readers a very Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year 2010!

Shermaine starting solid food

This is what Shermaine is capable of doing now. New stunt for a new year. She can now turn to her tummy and vice versa with such a breeze, no effort like. She's sure growing up well, in fact I noticed that her appetite has grown like almost double. Maybe it's a sign that I should start her on solid food soon. In fact, I steamed a small potato with some carrot today for her, and she loves it to bits. Starting solid at 5 months, 1 week and 2 days old. I guess it's about time this little chick starts to eat. And man, she just grabs everything she come across and put it in her mouth.

The festive season

It's been ages, hasn't it? I've been super busy with basically everything from the kids, to refurnished the bedroom, to having a 4.5 months old baby that loves to cling on to my boobs every time I allow her to, to trying to stock up my blogshop for new merchandise for this coming Chinese New Year, oh this list can go on forever and ever.

Mom has been telling me that I should start spring cleaning the house for Chinese New Year which is like less than 4 weeks away. but where in the world can I find time to spring clean my house? By mommy's term, spring cleaning includes digging and spilling everything out from their respective places, say the bookcase or the wardrobe and throw out what is old and rearrange what other things we want to keep. That's one hell of a task. Furthermore, with only one maid now, poor soul really hasn't got enough time to sleep. Nah, deal with the dirty house and dusty curtains, will ya?

Anyway, we won't be celebrating Chinese New Year in my house. We will be heading back home town to granny's place, though granny is no longer around, we still go back there every year. That's where our family still gathers every year. I love it there during this festive season. Seriously, as much as I love the white sandy beach at Riviera Maya, the glorious food and the exceptional holiday experience, I'd rather be in that old village to celebrate Chinese New Year in that wooden house. Note to the hubs: All other family vacation can wait. We're going home this Chinese New Year.

My 4 months old chick

This is my little pumpkin at 4 months old. Isn't she chubby? Oh, never mind the double chin, it runs in the family. Argghh.. Hopefully that double chin thingy will not be a permanent thing on my little girl, like it is on me. I was never skinny, even as a little girl, always on the meaty side, see how decent and round I am now. She's such a joyful little thing, she smiles and cooes when she sees people, anyone, be it strangers. And she loves to be cuddles, who doesn't?
She can turn on her back and on her tummy too. It's hard to keep her in her baby cot nowadays as she yells for company. So I just leave her on the big mattress so that she can have much more space to explore. And yes, she can crawl now, though just a little bit.

I love online shopping

As a blogger, I get the privilige of making money online by writing honest opinion or reviews. Having said that, now you know that I do spend a lot of time going online, be it for blogging or web browsing. One of my favorite thing to do is online shopping, though most of the time I browse for things that I cannot afford to buy, just window shopping. Seriously, what's the fun of looking at things I cannot afford, you might think? To me, it's fun!

Anyway, I do have my preference when it comes to buying online. I do not buy my own clothes online just in case it doesn't fit. If you know me, you'll know that I do not have a flattering size 0 body. Very often, it's not easy to shop for my clothes. But for as kids clothings and other stuffs, I do surf the web as there are many good and cheap buy online. So far, I've bought herbs, my medela breast pump, kids clothes, herbs online, from overseas and local sellers and I might just add that it's fast and effective shopping. Fast, is for the fact that overseas shopping is right at my fingertip! And effective in the sense that I can shop from the comfort of my home.

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever thought of buying silver coins online? Silver coins is no doubt one of the most after sought items afterall.

Life as a mother

One of the most significant changes about being a mother to a newborn baby is the lack of sleep. Or rather, limited uninterrupted sleep. Gone were the days where I can sleep straight for a good 6 hours or without anyone waking me up for milk. But I guess that's normal. My baby girl is probably the most easy going baby ever, she only wakes up one time for milk in the middle of the night. That really saves me lots of time and effort is trying to wake up to feed her milk.

As I look at my newborn baby, I can't help but think how long is it going to take to raise her till she's independent enough to do things on her own. At least, until she starts schooling, that time I'll find myself with different worries. Worrying if she's growing well or if she'll do well in school etc. Life as a mother is never easy eh. How I wish to get some free Disney World Tickets so I could bring the kids to Disney World for a day of great fun without a worry in the world. ::Wishful thinking::

Increasing breast milk suppy

i really don't know what else works. I tried every remedy, from the papaya with pig's tail soup to the milkmaid tea, but none of the above seems to work magic on me, or may I say on my boobs. Seriously, this time throughout this confinement period, I never once experience breast engorgement. Not even once!

And as a last straw, I finally bought fenugreek supplement. Keeping my fingers crossed this time, this is going to boost my breast milk production.

Another week to go!

If you haven't know, we Chinese are a bunch of very particular people, especially when it comes to the tradition of confinement. That is, a lot of do and don't after giving birth to a baby. First, we must be confined to the four walls of our home, we cannot get out of the house. Then there's this other thing about not taking a shower. Old wives tales are said used to practise the habit of not showering for a whole month, that's like enduring 30 days of sweaty fat pig. How possible is that? I cannot see myself doing that honestly. I secretly showered on the third day and begged my mom to let me wash my hair on the 5th day of giving birth. I really have no idea why the Chinese practise these believes, but heck, my mom a.k.a my confinement lady makes it sounds all like "you'll live to regret it if you don't obey".

Another week to go till I'm allowed to do whatever I want. One thing for sure, in a weeks time, I'll sure tuck my little baby in her stroller, drag my 4 year old son with me to go shopping! I miss going to the mall so badly. And maybe over the weekend, we might even ask hubby to drive us for a getaway, I'll be glad to go anywhere to get out of the house. It'll be superbly wonderful if hubs were to surprise me with a riviera maya vacations. ::Hint hint::

Tiny little feet

Baby girl has the tiniest and cutest feet I've ever seen. Perhaps it's because amongst all the babies born in our family, she's the feminine one and also quite a tiny baby at birth. A couple of days after she's born, her skin started peeling off, even those at the sole of her feet, revealing a much delicate and smooth new skin.

She now still sleeps in that curled up position like when she was in the womb. It's totally cute to see her sleep in that kneeling down

position. Love it.

Introducing baby girl, Shermaine

Introducing baby girl, Shermaine.

Sorry I should have posted this much earlier, but haven't got the time to sit down to blog. It's hard to find time to even take a nap. Which is why everytime baby is asleep, I will try as much as possible to sleep too. But nevertheless, I'm really proud of my baby girl, she's such an easy going baby, no fuss at all. Thank God for that.

Keepsake for baby girl

I'm so excited, you know why? Since my gynae will be on leave from the 7-15th September, he's unable to perform the c-section on my scheduled date which is on the 9th of September. So, we rescheduled the operation earlier to the 4th which means there's only another week to go! Honestly, I've been feeling quite heavy lately, and feeling like a log. My movement are restricted, so I'm trying to slow down and minimize my activities. Well, my gynae told me that my amniotic fluid level is a little high above normal range, so that kind of explained the heaviness I'm experiencing right now. So, his advice will be an earlier c-section which I totally agreed on. Given that my thighs, they itches so badly, I'm hoping it'll go away right after the baby is born. Can't take the itchiness anymore.

I'm not the only one excited about the arrival of this new baby girl, hubby, Shern and the rest of my family are really looking forward to this day too. I am thinking maybe I should get both Shern and the baby a gift each, and when the baby is born, I'll tell my son that his baby sister has a i-love-you-brother gift for him and vice versa. Maybe that way, he won't feel threaten anyway with a newborn around. You know how much attention a newborn needs, we didn't want him to feel abondoned in any way.

Baby's grandfather even has a special gift ready for his first grand daughter in the family. I can imagine how much joy this baby will bring into this family. Maybe I should also get a gift for my baby girl. Perhaps a gold bracelet or maybe a rare gold coins for keepsake. What do you think? I personally prefers to buy gold as it is a good investment and the value of good can only increase over time.Especially if you were to buy Monaco Rare Coin, it helps you locate the best, highest-quality rare coins available at best prices, thereby maximizing your rare coin investment dollars. It's sure worth every dollar investing in gold, right?

I've got my hands full!

I've been pretty occupied with my sick child, my new blogshop- Bucketload and oh, did I tell you we'll be moving house soon? You can imagine how many boxes of stuffs I need to pack, didn't know we have so many things accumulated over the years until now! I figured we'll be chucking out lots and lotsa stuffs this time. Well, the rule of decluttering, stuffs you never used in over a year, out they go. Easier said then done. What if one day I might need it, and it's not available anymore? Isn't is a waste of money to buy it again? Tricky isn't it?

Anyway, baby girl will be due is about 3 weeks, unless baby decided to come out earlier. What hard work can I possibly do with a tummy this big? I'm trying not to overwork myself, not wanting to risk going into pre-term labour, or stressing myself out. Better take it easy for now.

Never too old to learn

Without a computer, you're basically nowhere. And worse still, without Internet connection, you're just like a man stuck on an island, alone and miserable. I cannot imagine how my life will be without Internet. I'm online most of the time, blogging or just surfing the web for all kinds of reasons.

My mom, after seeing that we, her children are all so computer literate, she is now so tempted to get her hands on a laptop and she is very eager to learn how to use the computer so that she can go online too. Really, teaching her about computer will take a very long time as she's computer illiterate. But I'm sure with her determination, she will be an expert in no time. Maybe when she learnt how to use a computer, she might even want to get an online degree from Capella University.

Her interest has always been in the field of culinary. I'm sure Capella University will have a suitable graduate degree program for her since Capella is specially catered to providing online graduate school for working adults. Who know, my mom might one day be the world famous chef. Don't be surprise then.

Kids are supposed to sleep early, aren't they?

Tonight, I had some trouble putting Shern to bed. That's always the case if he took a very long nap in the afternoon till late evening. By the time he really dozed off, it's almost midnight already. In cases like that, I'll have trouble waking him up for school tomorrow. He'll whine and whine when it's time to get up, and very often I got to ask the maid to pull him straight out of bed into the toilet to brush his teeth and wash his face. At 33 weeks pregnant, I am not in a good shape to even carry him anymore.

Just hope that since tomorrow is a Friday, he'll at least be a little cheerful when I wake him up for school tomorrow. Let's see how it goes.

Things has been slow

Since the launch of my blogshop, response has been slow, reason being there's not enough publicity on my blogshop. Well, I think I didn't work hard enough to promote my blogshop. The one thing I learned along the way is, to generate traffic to your blog, you need to frequent other people's blog, leave comment or leave them a message in their shoutout box, only then traffic will be redirected to your blog when visitors click on your link. Sounds easy peasy but it requires loads of work.

Nevertheless, this is only the start, I'm confident that my blogshop will soon be getting more traffic. I still have a few items I need to post up for sale. But I need to do some editing to the photos beforehand. I love a clean cut photos on the things I sell. Makes it all look more professional isn't it?

Time to trade stock option maybe

It's been two days since I launched Bucketload, and I got a few enquiries on some of the items especially on the kid's sleepwear but up to date, there's no confirmation on orders. That's a little dissappointing. But nevermind, it's only been what 48 hours since opening, and there's still plenty of time for the blogshop to gain exposure from the online market.

But waiting for orders to come in is not so fun. Meanwhile, maybe I should get my hands on the stock options trading, make some money trading stock, so that I will earn more money to stock up more merchandise for my blogshop. What do you say? Hubby is really tempted to trade stock too, as a few of his friends are doing so well and earning big bucks by just clicking on the Internet from the comfort of their home. Maybe it's time we do the same.I'm sure that with PowerOptions®, we will only gain and not lose money. It's the only internet-based data provider that gives investors SmartSearchXL®, a patented decision support technology that identifies the highest return option trades, so it cannot be wrong!
