My tennis buddy

Growing up, every kids has their own best friend. I have one too. We used to do everything together, in school and everywhere else. We hang out a lot at each other's house, though we are from different races, we just clicked.

Her father was a tennis coach, so you can imagine she's spoilt for choices when it comes to tennis wear like tennis skirts and the best kind of tennis racquet string available in the market. I learned a few things along the way too, like how a good quality string will not slide during play, not forgetting that it has superb grips. The only thing I regret is not taking up tennis when I can get free coaching. What a waste.

Being a great friend that she was, she always request gifts from her father's sponsor on behalf of me. How fortunate I am to have such a friend? Very. The good part is, she always get tennis freebies, and special item which are not always available in the market. On one birthday, she presented me with one of those tennis polo shirt that was really nice. It quickly became my favourite shirt for a long time.

There's so much to learn about tennis if you want. From getting a good racket to buying the right pair of tennis shoe. It takes a lot of practise to make you a good player, just like every other sports. I still adores tennis as much as I used to, maybe I'll consider taking tennis lessons in the future.

what's the fuss, cheapskate parents?

school reopens. as promised, the government subsidies all school students with textbooks. in the past, text books were given out on a year loan basis and priorities were given to students with not so well do parents. now, parents only need to pay for their extra curricular fees and some workbooks for their kids, i cannot believe some parents actually complaint about that. why is it that buying own children's workbook and paying for their extra curricular activities has suddenly become a burden to them. cheapskate.

think on the brighter side, the government has spent so much on your kids, and why can't you thank them instead. i like to think that the fees i pay for my kids will somehow ended up being used to maintain the school especially the most emphasis point, the toilet.

fees contribution by parents can perhaps be used to purchase School Lockers so that kids won't have to carry their 7kg bookload to school everyday. i really like the idea of western schools where each student is given a Metal Locker for a minimal fee.

as for the extra curricular activities, many school lacks proper exercise facilities, some doesn't not even have proper gym or play court for kids, let alone a decent Gym Lockers. i truly believer that if parents are more considerate in donating and giving back to the school, it will make it a lot easier for the students to progress both academically and in sports.

where's the MLB craze eh?

in this part of the world where i live, people are crazy over badminton and squash that's because we have world class players, world seeded players to be exact. one of the reason why other sports are not popular here is because we lack focus on coaching good players. games like MLB world Series is just another game they aired on cable television. we never get to see it live, cheering in a stadium with thousands other spectator is almost impossible.

if only i get the chance to witness such a game live, it would be great. truly one chance of a lifetime. it sure is different from watching it from the television. hip hip hooray while eating pop corn and drinking coke, oh what a pleasure. what i need now is a sponsorship to get a front row MLB world series tickets. well well, can anyone hear me there? fine, let's go dutch.

man and their love for sports

Man and their love for sports can make them do crazy things. i know that very well, given that my hubs has a great passion for sports such as formula one races and world rally championship. but this is not about my hubs, this is about a dear friend of mine, Toye.

he used to be a good baseball player during his high school days in Manchester. he was a very good player, he even represent manchester once to play in a match against Australia. well, the team lost. but that didn't stop him from loving the game even more.

Every spring training season, he'll be busy looking online tickets in hope to find a great deal so that he can fly there to watch the game live. He said nothing beats the joy of seeing live game with live audience. yes, i have to agree with him. If you asked him, he'll even tell you a 320 dollars ticket for a Boston Red Sox Spring Training tickets MVP infield just pass 1st base one seating ticket in City of Palms Park, Fort Myers is worth the money, because that's a start of a very interesting league. well, man and their love for sports, just like ladies with their handbag craze. agree?
