Kid's freedom

Call me 'old-schooled' parent or whatever you like, whatever that suits you, whatever that makes you happy but I'm all out against kids playing games. To me, it distracts their mind. Once you let the game pollutes their mind, their concentration towards studying will decrease, as their mind will be filled with the games nonsense.

My 5 years old son might probably be hating me behind my back. He doesn't get all the privilege of having gadgets like PSP, Nintendo, laptop like his cousins. He thinks that I'm the bad mom, he thinks that he's the unlucky one, I know he secretly wishes that his mom is someone else and not me. He's always asking me, "why they can and he can't?"

To me, letting kids own these gadgets means giving them the freedom to play, even without parental supervision. I think it's very unhealthy once they are addicted to it. Honestly speaking, adults too can get addicted to games, what more about kids. Imagine a 5 years old addicted to playing age of war, or even boxhead 2, to a point their studies are neglected! I hate to see my son ended up like that. On the other hand, I will consider letting him to start blogging like I do. At least I get to read whatever that he blogs about, in the process he can learn more about the Internet, html coding, or even start blogging for money. As a blogger myself, I think getting paid to write review is easy and I can do it whenever I want.

2011- A good start

At the stroke of midnight, sipping champagne and looking up to the fireworks display in the sky, that was how we started our new year 2011. All of us, big and small, old and young, even my brother, who is still recovering from the accident, went with us to the spacious carpark near our home, to see the fireworks display at the stroke of midnight. Oh, did I mentioned how much the kids love the fireworks? Maine and Ethan literally went GA GA over the fireworks. Surely something they have both never seen before. Well, they might have seen it in the past, but I'm sure back then they don't understand the sparking thing in the sky. But now, they have come to understand the beauty of the fireworks. Both babies have sure grown a lot in a year.

While all of us went Oh and Ah's over the fireworks, my brother just sat on a stool, unable to walk, sat quietly, looking at the fireworks. I bet he must be thanking God for His grace and mercy, for another year, for a wonderful family that stays by him, through it all.

He still has this pins and plate on his arm after the surgery, it will take months for him to fully recover, nevertheless Thank God he's recovering well. We'll see if there's a need for us to file an Accutane Lawsuit in the near future. As for now, it's a good start for a new year.

Beauty is not just for adults..

At such a tender age, my 15 months old darling daughter sure knows a thing or two about beauty. She loves to see us putting on make-up. Every time she sees my sister blowing her hair, she will run to her, asking for her hair to be done, even if it's just for a mere 5 seconds. Every time she gets hold of a make up brush, she will brush it all over her face. Not mentioning the comb, she loves to just brush and brush herself with it.

Having a son as a firstborn and also many more nephews in the family, having Maine is sure a different experience altogether. She's like a little me, I'd love to think that I was as cute as her when I was little. She's such an angel, adored by everyone. I'm glad that she'll have a few cousin sisters to play with in the future, at least she will not be surrounded by boys and their cars and guns, but to have play mates to join her in her tea party, princess sleepover and more. Perhaps to attend Regency Beauty Institute together in the future, if that's what she's interested in pursuing.
