Teaching kids the value of money

As a parent, I think it's absolutely important that we teach the kids the value of money, first by telling them that everything is worth something and that money should not be spent unnecessarily. I believe in letting my son earns what he wants. Say, if he wants a toy, then he should earn it by having good behavior or by getting good result,knowing that as he does, he's in for a treat.
